Medusa is a blogger on TCM's Movie Morlocks who writes very good pieces on a variety of movie topics. Medusa posted a thorough overview of the Ritz Brothers career on Harry's 102nd birthday, May 22. It's a very nice piece with some new pictures I had not previously seen...Medusa's affection for the boys is quite obvious, so it makes for fun reading. Why?
Why a Ritz Brothers blog? Why now? They had their success years ago, made their mark on American entertainment, and have been gone for a long time. So again, why now? Simply stated, I'm a fan, and I want to learn more about their lives and their work. I want to discuss these gentlemen with others who appreciate their work. And I hope to converse with those who knew them and can provide insights not otherwise available.
Where this repository of Ritz-related data will go remains to be seen: perhaps a book, maybe a website, or simply this blog where like-minded fans can engage in pleasant discussions about Al, Jimmy, and Harry. Regardless of the outcome, I look forward to this experience. Please join me.
